Automotive plants in Nuevo León exported 153,661 vehicles from January through July 2026, up 6.6% from the same period last year, according to figures from Inegi cited by El Horizonte and the Nuevo León government. The state exported 20,387 vehicles in July, 18% more than in July 2025, and produced 25,914 vehicles during the month, a 23.8% annual increase.
The mix is moving in the same direction: light-vehicle exports rose 10.3% to 134,986 units in the first seven months. For operators in the corridor, that is a useful read on throughput as Pesquería’s electromobility build-out joins an already export-oriented manufacturing base.
Why it matters
The latest numbers point to more than a monthly rebound. They show Nuevo León’s automotive platform continuing to connect local production with international markets, while the state’s industry adds a new electric-vehicle lane. KIA’s planned EV3 production in Pesquería is part of that transition, though the export totals cover the state’s broader automotive base.
That distinction matters for suppliers. A larger export flow can support demand across components, logistics and plant services, but the durable opportunity will depend on how much of the next vehicle cycle is sourced and built locally.
